Welcome to Purple Bee!
Hey! I am Aarthi Sethuraman. I am a mom of two little boys aged 8 and 5. I am extremely passionate about early childhood education, arts and crafts and entrepreneurship. I believe happy kids + happy parents make happy families. I created Purple Bee activity kits to make both you and your kids happy. My goal with Purple Bee is to help you engage kids in a meaningful way with plenty of ease.
Check out what happy Purple Bee mom Pavithra, had to say
Purple Bee is truly a creative venture that creates loads of fun activity crafts for the young minds. I have personally used purple bee and my son enjoys it!! The first time I bought the product I was very surprised and satisfied at the meticulous detail that has gone into packing every craft. Such products definitely make learning fun!!!
Pavithra MohanHave you ever…
Craved for some “me” time?
Dreaded weekends and summer holidays?
Put your kids in some summer camp just because they would drive you crazy if they were at home?
Let your kids use your phone or iPad just because they were bored and you could not think of alternatives to engage them?
I truly understand that having a job, managing the household, cooking three meals a day and also coming up with ideas to engage curious kids can be challenging.
You are in the right place if any of the above situations resonates with you. I have been through these situations myself. I created Purple Bee boxes to help you make learning fun and meaningful for your kids without sweating it out. You can have fun with your kids and at the same time have time to do what you want to do – It could be playing a sport or catching up with friends or even sipping a cup of coffee peacefully
Who am I? How did it all start?

After receiving my Masters in Msc(hons) Maths and M.M.S from BITS- Pilani, I drove into the IT industry for seven years. I was happy doing what I did, shutting between US and India until my first son was born. And then, life changed my priorities changed. I quit my job to spend time with my little one – to be there with him, to see and enjoy his milestones.
My son introduced me to the world of children’s books and arts and crafts. Our daily schedule included visit to the library, craft time, visit to the park and I was truly enjoying it all – after all, I had quit my job to be able to do all this.
The transition from software engineer to SAHM to entrepreneur…
My love for early childhood education started when I started researching about homeschooling or rather should I say forced to learn about homeschooling. I smile as I write this, but it was not so few years back…
The “First day of school” is something every parent looks forward to anxiously. As a first time parent, I did too. But my son just refused to go to school. We tried for few days, weeks, but he just did not want to school. It was a difficult phase, but we decided not to push him and wait it out. I started reading about homeschooling, fell in love with Montessori way of teaching, got introduced to the ateliers or Reggio schools. I got introduced to the wonderful world of early learning.
Thankfully, that was just a phase and my son started enjoying school.
But,
My love for early childhood education continued…
Fast forward, three and half years, we welcomed our second son, moved back to India and my life changed again.
With a baby at home, and finding ways to make the transition smooth for my first son, both at home and school, I had absolutely no time for anything else. While I had a strict No TV rule with my first son, I am guilty of relaxing that with my second one. That was when I thought how easy it would be if someone did all the planning and research and curated all the materials needed for the activity.
Fast forward three years, my second son was now in school and I had time on hand. While contemplating to getting back to work or doing something on my own, I decided on the latter.
Considering my interest in the early learning space and the problems I faced as a parent, I decided to do something that would make me happy and also solve the problem faced by parents and thus was born Purple Bee activity boxes.
Journey so far…
The year 2016 has been very rewarding. I have had the honour of receiving the following awards.

The best award is of course hearing feedback about Purple Bee boxes from satisfied happy parents. This is what Krithika, a happy Purple Bee parent had to say about our boxes
It gets tougher to keep the little ones occupied during holidays. Especially with a no-tv rule. Thanks to a Purple Bee, my little one’s been a busy bee all day
